VIP Style Awards 2024: Unveiling the Zoey Dress by Manley

The VIP Style Awards? It's the red carpet event everyone's buzzing about, where all eyes are glued to see who's rocking what.

I've been hitting up the VIP Style Awards since 2015. I took a brief hiatus during the COVID chaos and a couple more years when I was either heavily pregnant or fresh as a first time mum, but every other year, I was there, ready to roll.

Usually, my game plan involved making sure everyone else Manley was dressing was sorted before even considering my own outfit. I've got a knack for last-minute outfits and it usually pans out alright. But this year? This year was different.

I decided to ditch dressing others for the red carpet and zero in on myself. And boy, am I glad I did.

Formalwear isn't exactly Manley's usual jam, but when we dip our toes in, we bring our own flair to the table. My ensemble for this year's VIP Style Awards was no exception.

I went back to the basics of Manley - what we're all about day to day. Cue our signature Parker leather dungarees, my ride or die piece that I've practically lived in for the past five years. Then, I sprinkled in some of that dreamy Manley Bride vibe with layered of chiffon and hey presto, the Zoey Dress was born.

I felt so comfortable and cool in this number. I moved freely, no restricted silhouette with this dungaree dress and what's more, I had pockets for my phone and lipstick. This number is one I will wear again and again and already I’m looking at other colours ways to do it in.

Mixing a metallic leather dungaree bib style bodice with a layered chiffon skirt was a risk, but it's one I was gald I took!

Of course, we all know hair and makeup can make or break a look. So, I entrusted my face to the one and only lady I trust, Michelle Kinsella. She brought the metallic from the dress up onto my face, adding a touch of modern glam that could've felt straight out of my teenage years, but it oozed sophistication.

As for the hair, Peter Mark deserves all the credit for that pulled-back bun. It's not something I'd usually go for, but I felt the dress needed breathing space. So, hair was swept back off my face and shoulders, letting the dress speak for itself.

I didn't walk away with the award for Irish designer of the Year, but I was honored to have been nominated and have an excuse to get dressed up! Overall, I absolutely loved the look and think it might just be my favorite VIP Style Awards ensemble yet!

P.S. Keep an eye out on manley.ie because the Zoey Dress will be making its debut very soon. In the meantime, if you're after one, drop me an email!
