Hello Stevo Podcast featuring designer Emma Manley!

This week I sat down with comedian Stephen Mullen to record an episode for his ‘Hello Stevo’ podcast. This podcast is essentially Stephen in conversation with people, not just comedians, just people he’s interested in talking to about all things life.

This was my first podcast recording since giving birth so there’s some slurping sounds from the main man Tadhg who made his first podcast appearance at just eight weeks old!

We talk motherhood, overcoming loss and the journey to becoming my very own Manley boss! Tune in and let me know what you think!

Manley Maternity on the Red Carpet!

Saturday night was the Gossie Awards 2019. I was up for Designer of the year along with Don O’Neil, Lennon Courtney, Paul Costello and Zoe Jordan. Sadly I didn't walk away with the trophy, the legend that is Paul Costelloe did and deservedly so.

I did get the chance to make me a Manley that was fit for the red carpet and for my burgeoning bump. Growing this bump has taught me a lot about about the challenges women face dressing not only day to day but for events when they’re pregnant. It’s not easy, believe me, and I will get my ass in gear to get Manley Maternity to you as soon as I possibly can. Lets just go about having this baby first and then I can tackle that obstacle!

This dress came about when I was trying on some Manley’s in preparation for the gossies. I was trying on anything that could either possibly fit, or alternatively, something that was along the lines of what I wanted. My Manley Bride wedding dress came out of the closet and bam, it fit perfectly.

I’m one of those IBS sufferers so for me, on my wedding day, comfort was key and having the ability to disguise a bad IBS bloated tummy day was a necessity. Turns out that style is Manley to begin with but very translatable to Maternity too!

This red carpet dress is literally my wedding dress just in leather and studded. I know I will wear this dress for a wedding in a few weeks when I’m 39 weeks pregnant and I will wear it again for my nieces communion post baby in May. It’s one of those that I will feel comfortable and confident in no matter what's going on in my tummy region and that's what I love about it, it’s not just for maternity but post baby too.

Simone Kirby is Red Carpet Ready in Manley!

Simone Kirby, the equally talented and beautiful Irish Actress, is a long time Manley fan, and on Tuesday night she stepped out in Manley for the European premiere of ‘Hole in the Ground’, her new film out now!

Simone teamed our Manley Mia Shirt with a kick ass matching Manley Bag and kept is casual on the bottom with jeans and boots. Simone is a big fan of Irish design and so choose awesome jewellery from Irish brand Edge Only, to pair with her Manley look. The Hexagon Drop Earrings and Wedge ring were the perfect cool accompaniment to complete the casually cool red carpet look.

Fancy getting yourself one of these beauties? Just drop Manley an email on and Emma will be back to you in a jiffy!

Check out Simone in some past Manley’s below!

Parker Skirt 2

Manley's studded and perforated leather skirt is definitely an eye catcher. This high waisted skirt is hand crafted in Italy from a soft perforated suede. Fully lined for the smoothest fit. This skirt is our mid length of the AW17 season, sitting above the knee.

Rounded and conical studs in antiqued gold, silver and black adorn this super soft suede skirt to give it the wow factor. Here is an up close and personal look at the detail...

⭐︎Parker Skirt Stats⭐︎

Number of Studs: 490

Stud Colors: 4

Stud Types: 10

Hours of Studding: 9

After the 9 hours of studding (at least) that it takes to decorate this bad boy, we press them so that the studs have no chance of falling off. That process takes another several hours before it is time to sew the buttons on!

All the embellishment is done in the Manley Studio based in Dublin, Ireland after we receive the leather pieces from our factory in Italy. We handpick our leather from Italy every season so we know our customers are getting the best of the best. This is a very special piece that takes time and dedication to finish, hence why it is featured in our Spotlight Series!!

If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It

Why Design?

Why Design?

This project is a showcase of influential female designers who live and work in Ireland. Today, the Irish Design sector is 25% female and 75% male, this ratio is simply not good enough. Gender balance was the last item on the last page of the Policy Framework for Design Enterprise in Ireland. It’s time to change this and I am honoured to have been chosen for this campaign.
