Xpose Hits and Misses 18th Dec 2015

Another Friday, another go at the Xpose Fashion Panel! Myself, Corina Gaffey and Lorna Weightman most certainly didn’t agree on everything but that’s the way we like it!

The Star Wars premieres gave us plenty of hits and misses this week kicking off with the red carpet in L.A. Lupita’s Alexandre Vauthier was a modern, embellished and almost dream dress. Unfortunately the back seamed to be an afterthought and lacked the finishing to make it the perfect red carpet gúna. Daisy was the perfect princess on the red carpet in her custom made Chloe. Perhaps a little safe considering what we later found out she’s capable of doing… fast forward to the London premiere!

Lupita completely committed to her Proenza Schouler SS16 look. From the mesh headpiece, to the galactic earrings and futuristic lippy, she committed to this look and nailed it. Daisy’s custom made Rouland Mouret was breathtaking and she completed the look so well with her retro futuristic hair that gave a nod to her her Star Wars character. She’s only new to the red carpet game but she nailed it and look completely confident doing so.

Elizabeth Banks played it far too safe for me. Remember how kick ass cool her Razan Alazzouni was at the premiere of The Hunger Games - Mockingjay Part 2? Yeah, I thought she was going to channel that kinda futuristic fashion again but instead we got SS16 Resort Ellie Saab … yawn.

Now for our only non Star Wars look! I loved how Kate Middleton was wearing an Alexander McQueen pre fall AW11. I believe fashion should be a considered, investment buy and something you pull out time and time again. How incredible to see the Princess of Wales taking this gem out for the third time in public and it looking just as great four years later in it. That gives the fingers to fast fashion if you ask me!
